When the Army Calls

Hi, I’m Dannielle and I’m 23 years old. I’m married 3 years now to my best friend Matthew who is 24 and these are our boys Kaysn Gary Michael, 2 1/2 years old and Emmerich Ray Matthew, 5 weeks old πŸ™‚ My neighbor came over and took this picture for me!

Colorado Springs, Colorado. In our kitchen at home! πŸ™‚

This is a blue Colimacon et Cie woven wrap. I wrapped them in a tandem reinforced ruck with tibetan tie. I’m feeling pretty accomplished in this picture as this is the first time getting this tandem wrap down just right!! Normally I either back wrap cross carry with my toddler or front wrap cross carry with my infant, so I was pretty pleased with myself. After I had my neighbor come take a picture I went on to clean the house hands free of a baby and without a toddler running under my feet every 2 seconds! :):)

This was taken April 13th 2013 at 1430.

Why do I baby wear? A few reasons actually. One being that I love having my babies so close to me all the time. Two being that they love being wrapped and being close to me! And third and most important, for my sanity! My husband is in the Army as an MP and away from home a lot due to working the road crazy hours, trainings and deployments. During the time this picture was taken my husband was away at training for a few months. He had left just 2 weeks after our second son was born so I was a little stressed out. I started wrapping our newborn during the day and it made everything a little easier on me to have hands free for my toddler. I then learned I could wrap them both at the same time! I watched a bunch of youtube videos probably more than 100 times and practicing with my toddler over and over again before putting my infant in. Finally got it down pat and have been so happy about it ever since. It’s so much easier to get things done when I’m by myself. My husband is due to deploy again soon after he gets back from his training and I plan to wear wear wear while he’s gone!! πŸ™‚ (But I will be wrapping him up a few times with the babies when he gets home! Maybe I’ll send in a picture of that too!)
